CHIANTI CLASSICO RESERVE 0.75 lt
That of Maurizio Alongi and Vigna Barbischio is the most successful novelty of Chianti Classico in recent years.
A critical and market success that in a short time brought the right attention to a small forgotten vineyard in the municipality of Gaiole, in the heart of the appellation.
We are in fact in the uncontaminated ridge of the Chianti Mountains, which separates Chianti from the Val d'Arno basin, where the formation of the Macigno, consisting mainly of sandstone rocks, has given rise to particularly loose sandy soils, with significant slopes and excellent exposures. .
The two neighboring plots, which give life to the only company wine, are surrounded by extensive woods predominantly of oak, turkey oak and chestnut trees, woods that contribute to mitigating climatic excesses and making the environment almost uncontaminated. The altitude is about 435 meters above sea level, with a prevalent southern exposure, for plants with an average age of thirty, with many strains that exceed forty.
The protagonist is Sangiovese, accompanied by complementary vines such as Malvasia Nera, which gives color and roundness, and Canaiolo, capable of enriching the aromatic heritage of the blend.
