Rosso di Montalcino DOCG Casato Prime Donne
Wine Enthusiast 91
Wine Spectator 90
The younger and smiling brother of Brunello made from the same Sangiovese grape and in the same area of Montalcino but destined to be drunk first.
Montalcino, the land where Sangiovese grapes express themselves best in the world and give birth to centenary wines, also manages to produce a great young red. It seems counterintuitive but it is not. It demonstrates the wisdom of the winemakers of this area. In fact the characteristics of the future wine are born in the bunches; the grapes destined for Brunello or Rosso di Montalcino are grown for this destiny right from birth
Color: intense and brilliant ruby red.
Aroma: fine, rich, well expressed, recalls small ripe red fruits, spices and dark flowers such as violets
Taste: wide, harmonious, satisfying, the tannin is silky and well balanced by the richness of the fruit. The persistence is long and pleasant
